The ECU manufacturer (Bosch, Siemens/Continental, Delphi, etc.). Optional — primarily useful when the part number alone could match multiple manufacturers on similar platforms.
Match quality explained
EXACT — ECU-Nr. ECU matches perfectly. This DAMOS was made specifically for your ECU hardware revision. Best possible result.
VERY CLOSE — Production number matches (same base part, possibly different hardware letter suffix). Virtually always compatible.
SAME PLATFORM — Same ECU family (e.g. all EDC17C46), different part number. Most maps will still import correctly in WinOLS.
RELATED — Shares part base or project code. May still be useful but review carefully.
DAMOS version — what does it mean?
The DAMOS version (shown as DAMOS 2.7 in results) is the version of the calibration definition file — not a software version of your ECU. A higher version means more maps are documented, with better descriptions and axis labels.

Always prefer the highest DAMOS version available for your ECU. If only 2.5 exists for your exact part, a 2.7 DAMOS from a very close match may actually give you better coverage.
Can I use a DAMOS from a similar ECU?
Yes — and WinOLS handles this automatically. When you import a DAMOS, WinOLS scans the ECU binary and matches each map by its memory signature, data type, and axis pattern — not by address alone. Only maps whose signature matches what the DAMOS expects are imported and labeled. Unrecognised maps stay unlabeled but are never corrupted.

Safe to try: WinOLS never writes anything back to your ECU from importing a DAMOS. It only labels the maps it recognises. There is no risk in importing a SAME PLATFORM DAMOS — you simply get fewer labeled maps, not wrong ones.

Pick the highest-scoring result Prefer EXACT or VERY CLOSE. If only SAME PLATFORM exists, choose the highest DAMOS version (2.7 > 2.5 > 2.0).

Download the A2L file You can also download a Czech or English translation — useful if you prefer not to work with German map names.

Import into WinOLS Open your ECU binary → Import DAMOS → select the A2L file. WinOLS labels all recognised maps automatically.
